Exploring Properties of Class 0 Molecular Outflows With The Unified Wind Model

We explore properties of molecular outflows from Class 0 protostars with numerical simulations in framework of the unified wind model proposed by Shang et al. (2006). Given that current available observing techniques do not allow us to resolve the small outflow launching region anticipated by theories, different theoretical models are best confronted by observations on outflow propagating scale. Numerical simulations of the unified wind model has been successful in reproducing the observed jet and shell features, and we have further built synthetic channel maps, position-velocity diagrams, etc. from the simulations, which allow us to characterise the effect of key parameters including the toroidal magnetic field and the sound speed of the wind. We compare the results to the high angular resolution observational data of the molecular outflow driven by the Class 0 protostar IRAS 04166+2706 and aim to extend the results to other sources in the future.
