Observations of Solar System Objects with Murikabushi 105cm Telescope

Hidekazu Hanayama (NAOJ)

The Ishigakijima Astronomical Observatory (IAO) is located on Ishigaki Island in Okinawa Prefecture and is one of the research institutes of National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ). Ishigaki Island is located in the southwest corner of Japan and is an appropriate site for the observation of Solar System Objects in the vicinity of the ecliptic. The Murikabushi 105-cm reflecting telescope is the largest in the Kyushu/Okinawa area. MITSuME (Multicolor Imaging Telescopes for Survey and Monstrous Explosions) three-color simultaneous imaging system is mounted on the Cassegrain focus of the telescope. Observations of transient objects such as gamma-ray burst afterglows are promoted with the domestic collaborations of OISTER (Optical and Infrared Synergetic Telescopes for Education and Research) and MITSuME project. Besides, the observations of Solar System Objects are powerfully performed with the advantage of the site. In this meeting, we talk about the telescope and the observational instruments, and report the observational results of the comets, Main-Belt asteroids, and Near-Earth Objects in recent years.
